Can George Foreman make a difference to Jermain Taylor?

With the news that Jermain Taylor is working on his strength with George Foreman, I ask what other differences Foreman could bring.

We know that George is not a full-time member of the camp, in-fact he only stops by now and then, but no doubt he has laid out some routines and plans for Taylor.

You may remember that when George was a younger fighter he used to expend a lot of energy, purely by his own account. This is very similar to Jermain, except he expends it based on his nervous activity. Taylor is basically like an hour-glass. In the Froch fight you could just see the sand sink into the bottom.

Can Foreman advise Taylor on how to conserve a lot of his energy, while simultaneously being more devastating with his power?

In the 90's Foreman used to stand during round breaks, such was the level of his fitness training. He was supremely confident in his stamina. I can't see Jermain ever being this solid, but perhaps a difference can be made.

If Jermain can finally nail the right strength and conditioning and become a more measured fighter I give him a very, very high chance of beating Abraham.

completely agree with you, I think all his losses can to attributed to him gassing in the later rounds in fights. I really do like Jermain and hope he can turn his career around. I think he beats Abraham though, he outboxes him clearly. Abraham may win a couple middle rounds but thats all. Aint nobody stopping Abraham tho.

No how would helping him out with his strength do anything for him. He needs to train with a Mayweather/Toney guys that know how to relax in the ring

oscar is also a victim of being too tense/nervous in the ring and it saps his energy. i hope jt can change, and overcome this, but it's not easy.

I hope so. I'm a big Taylor fan he needs to be better than he's ever been for the road ahead.

I remember a video being on here showing him working on his legs and more explosive power from his legs in order to retain power and energy longer. Plus, he's been working with a nutrionist.

I hope it all works, because frankly, I don't wanna see him crumple in a corner again.

Yeah I'm definitly picking Taylor for this fight. The frustrating and the sad thing is I don't think we've ever seen Jermain as great as he could have been, if all the pieces of the puzzle had come together. But, I think Jermain is going to be on top form for this fight. I only hope the Judges are up to the task.

Was that a recent video? I'd love to see it.

I hear you man. I still have not watched the Froch fight since I saw it live. I don't know how I'm gonna watch the Abraham fight. I get too nervous watching these ****ing fights lol I was on edge of my seat for the Pavlik rematch.

I picked Abe to win because I don't want to get my hopes....again. But I think Taylor will be dangerous and this will be his best chance for a win. If you think about, he's completely changed his training camp and he has to know people are writing him off--he knows he needs a strong performance, and to send a message.
