Comments Thread For: Josh Taylor: Catterall Will Suffer a Long, Painful Methodical Beatdown!

The fists did not start flying, but there were fireworks between undisputed junior welterweight world champion Josh Taylor and top contender Jack Catterall. Taylor and Catterall will lock horns for all the belts Saturday evening at OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, a short drive from Taylor's hometown of Prestonpans.

Jack Catterall really shut-down Josh Taylor and made him look like a fool, on the 'Gloves are off' with Johnny Nelson.

Jack spoke facts, Josh Taylor is not the best boxer that Catterall has been in the ring with, the sparring that Catterall received from : Saul Alvarez, Floyd Mayweather, Amir Khan, Kell Brook are grades much higher than the 'Tart-Tomato' will show against 'El Gato' on Saturday.

I'm glad that Catterall called Josh's BS, I had to laugh when Jack told Josh that he suspected that he ( Taylor ) faked the knee injury on the 'Gloves are off' ; That's another point that really got under Josh Taylor's skin. I also had the same su****ions because Catterall has been out of the ring for more than a year ; a career high layoff.

Josh Taylor was letting Catterall rust in order to slow him down and time him easier. I'm not sure who wins this fight, I wont be shocked to see a split-decision or another majority-decision on Taylor's resume, he needs clear wins like Terence 'Bud' Crawford, but Josh is back in the Hydro so he might get the usual crooked UK ref to help him out again.

Salty little clown, Taylor beat Prograis, Taylor beat down Ramirez and now you will be wrong again when Taylor beats down your latest hero. Do you ever get tired of making an absolute fool of yourself?

Everything that Jack Catterall said that I quoted is true. Have you seen Jack Catterall hurt before? I have not followed his career as hes been fighting all those English-Bums, but the sparring from the aforementioned notable names has raised my interest in this fight. Coupled with Taylor's lack of stoppages at world-level since 2018 I think that if Jack's skills are good enough to give elite champs good work he could school Josh Taylor.

The bookies are insane offering a +900 on Jack Catterall, the basis for these exaggerated figures must be due to the fact that Taylor has robbed his opponents at the Hydro.

Horrific undercard. Pushing the Khan vs Brook undercard hard for the worst ever. The Great Nash will only be watching the main event of this one. Nash out.

The two time Cuban gold-medalist Robeisy Ramirez is fighting 'Lilywhite Lightning' Eric Donovan. A mismatch but Ramirez is worth following, and Scotland will never get to see another gold-medalist in about 100 years.

Ramirez's career does interest me, and that one I likely will watch, but I saw the fight Donovan lost and thought he was very limited, so I don't see much of a challenge there now that Ramirez is up and running in the pros. The rest of the card is atrocious. Nothing will ever top the badness of Khan vs Brook undercard. The second best fight of the night being Natasha Jonas beating up some part time dishwasher for the "world title". Seeing her interviews the next day like she achieved something big were absolute cringe. Nash out.

The last fight at world level I remember in Scotland was Bud vs Burns...I hope Catterrall pulls it off but he has fought no one. This is like Canelo vs Plant, proven vs potential.

Also, yup, the undercard is lousy.

Twas thievery, Natasha Jonas would not be champ if the G.W.O.A.T had not vacated the WBO Super-featherweight title. But I like watching women in a punch-up tho.
