Khan knew he was shot to pieces in training camp? I'm not sure, to be frank he sounded so confident and if he wasn't, then an acting career beckons.
But some in his camp sounded confident also

It was just all for show to sell the fight. Khan knew he was old and over-the-hill, and it even shows with all that cupping he had on his body, but he was still bragging and showboating to sell the fight. This is Khan's last big paycheck after all, and he wanted to make as much as he could before retiring.
