Comments Thread For: Golovkin on Canelo Trilogy: I Have The Keys To Open Him Up!

Gennadiy Golovkin may never be in a mood to shake the hand of Canelo Alvarez ever again, but that does not necessarily mean that the Kazakh puncher isn't looking forward to throwing sanctioned punches at his b?te noir.

Long layoffs and old fighters never mix well. Pacquiao, Khan, now Golovkin.

Do it! Big GGG fan and i want him to win but if it ends with the red headed drug cheat knocking out Gennady then i guess its a fitting end to the trilogy.

There was a point where I liked GGG, but since his Canelo fights he's been nothing but a diva. If he thinks he won, lost, draw whatever he might think it doesn't matter, that was the past, Canelo has tried to make the trilogy on multiple occasions only to be held up by GGG like he is now. Sign the contract already, your being paid more than you worth by DAZN enough with the excuses, if you think you beat Canelo great, wonderful, fantastic.... Sign the contract and prove it you can close the show and leave no doubt, otherwise you just look like a clown...

Couldn't get it done in the first two fights but we're supposed to believe you'll do it now? Yeah, okay.

Deep down, I still want to see it though. If I tuned in to Khan/Brook this past weekend, then I'll surely tune into the trilogy.

"It has been no secret that Golovkin has long wanted another shot at Alvarez, given that he has resolutely insisted over the intervening years that he never truly lost the first two fights."

Team GGG actually publicly declined the trilogy nearly 2 years ago when they were both still with DAZN, saying they'd rather fight a scrub and even a TBA:
“No, they called me about it, and I said no,” Banks told IFL TV when the discussion turned to reviving the trilogy as the first piece of business once boxing returns at full strength. “The plan was for him to get this fight [Szeremeta] and get another fight, and then fight Canelo.” https://www.boxingscene.com/golovkin...canelo--148381

"Golovkin, in the meantime, has been somewhat under the radar, continuing to fight at middleweight while maintaining a far less active schedule than that of his rival."

Somewhat under the radar? He practically fell off the map from his handpicking. His only meaningful fight over the past 3 years was Derevyanchenko which many had him losing. And no GGG didn't offer the rematch because he's a hypocrite who doesn't offer rematches when he's the A side-- and also refuses rematch offers as the be Bside coming off the loss-- and yet, people still try to portray him as some ambitious fighter when he preferred staying in his comfort zone for the bulk of his career fighting second and third tier opposition.

Alvared doesn't want the Charlo and Benavidez work so i don't mind this trilogy. I had Golovkin winning the first fight very close and even though clenelo came forward more, i had it a draw that could've went either way in the rematch.

this fight is 20 mil that GGG can't turn down.

let it be his retirement fight.
