Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: William Zepeda Beats Devin Haney Right Now

William Zepeda has already emerged as a lightweight to fear, though the stakes have been raised by his own team. Oscar De La Hoya, founder and chairman of Golden Boy Promotions spent fight week insisting to anyone who would listen that Zepeda (24-0, 22KOs) is ready for any lightweight in the world. The Hall of Fame former six-division champion name-dropped WBC lightweight titlist Devin Haney (27-0, 15KOs) as a potential future victim for the unbeaten 25-year-old southpaw from San Mateo Atenco, Mexico.

El camaron zepeda is a future big player at 135,the guys gives subriel matias the hardest work in sparring. Subriel matias and Zepeda sparring is like hagler vs hearns type sparring

De La Hoya clout chasing like all promoters do put Zepeda in there with Linares who Haney already beat that's a good first test.

Gay La Hoya can say all he wants to promote his guy, but it isn't Devin Haney fighting a MF'er with 11 loses so gone with the BS Bob wannabe Arum!

Old man Linares almost knocked out Haney. Zepeda is way better than Linares at this stage, Haney does not have the power to keep Zepeda off him, which is why Haney struggled with Linares, difference is Zepeda throws way more punches and is not 40. It's 50/50 but Zepeda would beat Haney.... Book it, I doubt Haney would give this guy a chance unless he's the mandatory, which might not be that far away.

It's a fight I'd like to see but I'd have to lean towards Haney at this time.

If he's ready for Haney, then he's ready for Ryan Garcia! So why is Garcia fighting Tagoe?
