Morell doesn't need protecting from Jacobs, in fact if anything I'm sure he'd prefer to fight Jacobs because Jacobs is a bigger name in the states, is worth more money for around the same minor level of risk as Ryder. Like I said in another thread, Jacobs is supposed to be a level above gatekeeper type fighters like Ryder and Rosado yet he's struggled against both of them. Against Rosado he got a suspect win, against Ryder he probably lost when he should have won, but both fights were broadly the same where he didn't put in the kind of performance where it can be said that he emphatically won the fight when he probably should have done.
