The “face” “superstar “ am I missing something here ? Because all I see here is the son of a once great fighter being pushed along by brand matchroom , a privileged upbringing , ( good luck to the boy) an opportunity to be full time and the name Benn . And of course 21st century smoke and mirrors branding .

I like watching Conor Benn. It's been fun watching him try and step out of his dad's shadow. He's got a fun style and a bit of pop, I don't see him cleaning out the division or anything but you don't have to be the best to be worth watching. All I ask for is compelling fights.

That's where his detractors do have a point, Hearn needs a change up in opposition. We've seen he can beat fringe gatekeepers with little pop. Hearn should be taking a leaf out of Warren's book and build up a rival for him. Let's see him in with somebody on the up instead of down, let's see him fight a domestic/regional champion, let's see him in with somebody we can believe he could lose to. That's not a call to throw him under the bus while he's still green, but some real competition against similarly experienced opposition would be good for him and the fans. A loss wouldn't be the end of the world anyway.

it will not happen , what you are advocating is the essence of true sporting integrity and the reason true champions and greats like federer, nadal, Carl Lewis, Jesse Owens , mo farah, hearns, Leonard, Duran and many many others who find out who and what they are by testing their , physical, mental , and emotional capabilities as well as their longevity at the very highest level .
I’m afraid mediocrity in boxing today in all areas of the sport has not matched the progress other sports and more importantly the passion and loyalty of the fans who support it who are constantly mugged of by transparent modern marketing ideas .

Benn is an accident waiting to happen so Hearn will milk the public with matchups with elderly or has-beens to make him look good. He don't get anywhere near the likes of Spence or Crawford.

I understand the reasons why but still a shame.
It's a shame Josh Taylor is such a hard sell to the casuals, but they prefer "celebrity boxers" it's not just here though, Crawford is pretty unknown in the states too, its the rise of the Mcgregor type fighter to blame imo.
