Avanesyan is top 10 by The ring and boxrec, so you are wrong.

Not agreeing with Ring Magazine and boxrec doesnt make you wrong. Avanasyan has not beaten anybody to suggest he's a top 10 welter, he was stopped by kavalaskus not long ago, who himself isnt a top 20 welter.

David Avanesyan is defending his European Welterweight title vs. some cat named Oskari Metz in March. Vergil Ortiz Jr. fights McKinson in March. I think Avanesyan and Ortiz Jr. are headed for a meeting in the ring! If Thurman doesn't get Crawford, he might be left out the WBC picture for some time! However, if Crawford fights Ortiz Jr. (which I think he should $$$), then I can see Thurman vs. Avanesyan in a final eliminator! The division needs for Crawford to make a move!

You could be right. I'm curious to see what the WBC does with ranking Thurman. He isn't currently ranked due to inactivity, but he was the champ before they stripped him...again for inactivity. In addition to previously being WBC champ, Keith has the best resume at welter of anyone ranked by the WBC. Do they put him ahead of Ortiz Jr. or Avanesyan? There's no way to predict their thinking, so hopefully they come out with a plan soon. Listening to Keith talk, it seems like he wants to go the WBC route over facing Crawford, which in my opinion, is because Bud is harder to beat than Spence or Ugas.

Personally, I don't see how an undisputed fight isn't next for for the winner of Spence-Ugas. The sanctioning bodies will allow it. And it's definitely a duck if Spence or Ugas don't do it.

And, like you said, in the mean time, what's Bud going to do? Wait around? He should fight in April/May since Spence-Ugas is expected to come off in April. Otherwise, if he waited around for the winner, that means a best case scenario of an undisputed fight in maybe September, which would be 10 months since his last fight. MAYBE Keith would be ready to rumble Crawford in May, but I doubt it, especially given his comments. Being a fan of Keith (and Terence, too btw), I think he should have one more fight before going after any of the belt holders. He needs the activity to give himself the best chance at winning. Then again, there's the injury risk factor which he's prone to.

Man, I wish boxing had more tournaments. Then we wouldn't have guess so much.

I don't think Bud's pride would allow him to do that! I hope Bud fights Vergil Ortiz Jr.! That would be good payday for Bud, and I want to see Vergil step up!

You could be right. It's definitely an obstacle. But, it certainly shouldn't be 75/25 (I won't go into all the reasons). If it was 60/40 and Bud didn't take it he'd be foolish. If Spence/Ugas & Co. wouldn't give at least 40% they're chicken. The pressure will be on to make it happen as fans demand it.

As for Bud vs Ortiz Jr., I'm down for that fight. I don't see Vergil being as much of a threat to Bud (and everyone else) as Boots is, but I could be wrong. Let's see Ortiz Jr. vs Boots Ennis!
