    Klitschko-Lyakhovich Close To Done!

Chris Byrd = coward. Notice he refused to fight Wlad in America for $2.5 million. Where are all of the Chris Byrd supporters now?

By G. Leon March 07, 2005 - Sources close to the situation have informed **********.com that an agreement in principle has been reached between Lou DiBella and Shelly Finkel that has Sergei Lyakhovich on the verge of officially replacing IBF heavyweight champion Chris Byrd, as Wladimir Klitschko's opponent on April 23. This should be no surprise to **********.com readers since we first mentioned Lyakhovich as a probably replace when we broke the news regarding the implosion of both Klitschko bouts over the weekend. Klitschko advisor Shelly Finkel described Lyahkhovich as a "possibility" and says he'll be able to officially announce something tomorrow. Finkel did explain to **********.com that Chris Byrd turned down $3.5M to face Wladimir in Germany, and rather surprisingly, Finkel also told **********.com that Byrd is also refusing to accept $2.5M to face Wladimir in America! If Byrd doesn't have a complete change of heart overnight, there's no doubt, he'll be watching Wladimir Klitschko taking on weak opposition on HBO come April 23. Lyakhovich promoter Lou DiBella was unavailable for immediate comment. Stay tuned for all the latest. Remember Where You Heard It First! (7:00 PM ET)

How bout you face all of the guys Byrd has fought and then call him a coward huh?

Byrd-Wlad was never gonna be in the States. You´re gonna believe something b-c Shelly Finkel says its true?

Lyahkhovich is a good boxer and a good body puncher. His chin is only so-so though and he leaves himself open a lot. If he can avoid Wlad´s big shots for the first 3-4 rounds he can win with good body punching and combinations.

I haven't really heard much of this guy WK is fighting, can anybody tell me more about this guy, besides that he is a good body puncher? I believe Byrd did not want to fight WK either in US or in Europe.

He fought and beat Guinn a few months ago. Guinn had him hurt a bunch of times during the fight, but he never could capitalize off of it. Lyakhovich throws a lot of body punches and he throws them very well.

It's not often a guy like Byrd comes into a World Title, I don't blame him for wanting to hold onto it a little longer and make some money.

Oh well, **** him then, he wasn't gonna win that fight anyway. At least now we can put to rest any doubts one way or the other as to whether Byrd wants to fight Wlad to avenge his loss. He also says he wants to fight VK again, but I'd bet he won't do that either, no matter where it takes place.

Sergei doesn't have much of a shot at beating Wlad, either. He lacks the strength or speed to take the fight to Wlad, and he'll get murdered on the outside.

Yeah, I follow you. If that's really the reason behind Byrd/Wlad not coming off, then it makes perfect sense lol. And yes, I believe it is (keep in mind I'm from Texas, and since none of us hicks can read a map, and it takes so long to get out of this state, very few know about anything outside Texas lol)
