Showtime wants BERTO vs. BRADLEY at 147

Because of the problems with getting dates on the HBO calendar, and because Shane Mosley has turned him down before, Andre Berto is considering signing a deal with Showtime. Also, Berto isn't thrilled with the $750K that HBO is offering him.

If AB signs with Showtime, they want to stage an Andre Berto vs Timothy Bradley bout at welterweight.

BTW, Berto v. Mosley is a fight that HBO would approve, but i'm sure you have all heard about how HBO played Three Card Monte with the dates. December 26th is off the calendar, which would mean that Shane would have to bump Hopkins' date, yadda yadda.

Sometimes, good things come out of bad situations. A Berto/Bradley bout would be a good thing. Very good.

Naaah, I don't like the idea. The jump from 140 to 147 is a curse to many fighters and Bradley seems to be unbeatable at 140, he should clean up that division and Berto should fight a real WW, he's the WBC title holder for christ sake!

With Ricky gone and Manny locked into an HBO deal, Berto and Bradley would both have few big-fight options on Showtime.

What about a fight against Khan. He would establish himself at the top of JWW and then wait for guys like Guzman, Valero, Juan Diaz to step up. He seems very comfortable at 140, he's short, maybe too short for a WW.
