I don't know what statutory / precedent hurdles they have to clear in American courts to argue for the death penalty but I think purely on moral grounds they should have pushed for it, the facts of this case are honestly sickening. If him and his accomplice are guilty of what they're being accused of then the pair of them will burn in hell when their time comes, whenever that is.
