So did Whyte earn this title fight when he won the WBC Council Silver Heavy Title in 2017 or when he won the vacant WBC Interim World Heavy Title in 2019 or when he won WBC Interim World Heavy Title for the 2nd time in 2021?? Asking for a friend...

Read this somewhere......a point well made.

No one’s ever earned a shot at the WBC title when Vitali left in years . Wilder beat Jason Gavern and Fury beat Francis Pianetta ,two jokers .Whyte is the only one to really earn his title shot and it kills the Fury fan boys .

Imagine loving another man the way the Hearniacs adore their God-King. Arum checkmated him. Again.

As for here in the States,if its on ppv here, it will not sell for shiet, especially it being live around what noon? Those "epic" showdowns with Wilder did nothing for his popularity here and cant see many of us sitting home around noon to purchase a Fury ppv.Bob is better off putting in on ESPN.
It's a HW championship fight between two of the better-known names in UK boxing, fighting on British soil, where there is guaranteed to be a British HW champ coming out the other side of it. It's an easy sell. The biggest risk to it not filling a big stadium is if covid flares up. Remember they were able to fill Wembley with 80k for Froch vs Groves.

I agree the fight will be lucky to break even but paying Whyte more would help? & only Rematchroom hypejob's pay the extra to insert they're coward's clause clinging onto the belts, stagnating the sport.
Some fancy boxing while others with a particular fighter and then there is a 3rd, smaller group....they serve as promoter/manager concubine suffering from Stockholm syndrome.

Gotcha, thanks. Just wasn't sure as I know Fury hasn't fought in the UK in years and wasn't sure on Whytes popularity there after he was sparked out just two fights ago.
