Finally, we get it out of the horse mouth. We're going getting Canelo vs Charlo. He also says that in September a Golovkin fight would be good. But he said that it has to be at 168 pounds because Canelo can't make 160 anymore.

I've been thinking about this ... when Charlo beat Derevyanchenko, people were praising Charlo's performance. It was a closer fight than the scorecards suggest, IMO, but it was a very good fight for Charlo. Then he fights Montiel, and even though he won, people are comparing that to Monteil's past performances. Jaimie Mungia destroyed Montiel in two rounds, the same Mungia that went all 12 rounds with an old Rosado. So when you look at things in this context, and that Charlo looks to be on the same level as Plant (some say Plant has a bigger toolbox), you can see why people are saying that this is the easy route for Canelo. People use the word "bum" too loosely, but this is why there's criticism, especially when names like Beterbiev, Makabu, Bivol, Smith Jr were floating around.
