Why do people think Cotto can win?

Timing will be a big factor in this fight, look Zab was much faster than Cotto but he was timed and broken down over the course of the fight. I seriously doubt Pac even has as good punch resistance at 147 as Zab does....Pac will win rounds 1-4 and sometime after that be caught with big shots he will not be able to tolerate and be ko'd/tko'd.

reasons i can see cotto winning. cotto is physically, by far the biggest guy manny has fought. cotto is not only a legit welter. he is a big welter. cotto is a better pure boxer than manny. alot of guys say pac can use his speed, move in and out to win, and that is the only way i see pac winning.manny has been dropped multiple times by much smaller men.

It seems as though MANY have lost perspective since Cotto's lost to Margarito. That one lost represents a speed-bump in Cotto's career.

Cotto is still the beast he was prior to that first lost ...... he just needs the right motivation to get back into form. Hopefully this upcoming fight is what Cotto needs to get his frame of mind back ontrack.

If Cotto is on-point, He will literally destroy Pac-man - To the point that his corner will be rushing into the ring to stop the fight. If Cotto still hasn't recovered from his lost at the hands of AM ..... Pac will get the win and Floyd will be the one to finish Pac Off.

I would like to add to your excellent post, the fact before the clotty fight his training camp got turned upside down by family problems and had very little time to get used to his new trainers. that also made his fight with clotty more difficult.

At 145 Cotto is physically bigger and stronger than Pacman. Some of Pacman's attributes are definitely better than him but Cotto size alone more that enough to neutralize it.

If Pac can handle Cotto best punches or able to use his speed effectively to avoid them then Pacman wins if not Cotto will ko him.

In 140, if Pacman of today fight Cotto when he was at 140. Pacman chances of winning definitely higher.
