Obviously what I read doesn't have to mean that it was true! But as others have mentioned, what the hell would Gatti fear of Mayweather?? he has fought much tougher opponents! Mayweather would be the most elusive and frustrating, but nothing for Gatti to concern about! It would only help his career to beat Mayweather!

Mayweather may not have one-punch kayo power, but he could stop Mayweather. It would take an act of god for Gatti to make it to the last round. Gatti is a very good cash cow, but he is a paper champion who has made his name off of life and death fights with second-tier fighters. He has never beat a very good fighter. He has always come up short when he stepped up. An now people like you are saying he doesn't have anything to fear from possibly the best p4p fighter today? I ask you, where is the logic? Mayweather has stopped much better fighters than Gatti.

Dansweeny nailed it. Who gives a **** if Gatti looses? No one even gives him a chance to win! why the heck wouldn't he back out?!?! Although Gatti has the belt, Mayweather is risking more in this fight (career-wise).
