Just wondering what everyone thinks, you ever watch old tapes of fighters like this & wonder if it was peds? Do you think he just had natural punching power? How about others from past eras(would Mike be as hard a puncher?)

I don’t bother to speculate if a guy is on anything unless I can see obvious physical signs (and that doesn’t include to getting into shape). Julian Jackson looked natural. Meanwhile look at Golovkin before and after Szeremeta, clear use.

I think so, Jackson whipped his punches, perfect technique.

Not fair to say his power was anything other natural.
He'd beat the flesh off of a lot of present day boogeymen.

Punching power comes principally from technique not raw strength. Less someone invents a PED that improves technique the benefits ain't gonna be transformational.

Well if there was no testing that would mean all boxers would have the same advantages and we all know they weren’t all punching like Julian.

From what I have seen performance enhancing drugs, does not really improve punching power.

There are certain attributes in sport, that seemed innate 'And not something you can acquire from the outside'. You can improve these attributes marginally, but not by a great deal.

What amazes me is hes from the ****** Isles(I don't think they've ever had any other top fighters? They're a 32 mile island)
After looking into it best I can:

Makes me wonder if theres some special exercise techniques they were teaching him that made him so powerful early in life.

its often said punchers are born not made, but I don't agree with that,I think its i combo of both, like Pauli would never be powerful, but if he devoted to power early on instead of boxing skills,he mightve been a much harder hitter & if his style was focused more on Kos from Young age he mightve developed differently.

, guys like Jackson would never be so powerful without great excercise technique, but I think it has to do with the diet he ate from young age too & the unique environment he trained in combined with genetics,& I think his style is also responsible though

,he was the definition of a glass cannon,I think certain fighters hit harder because they fight with reckless abandon.

I don't know if I'd agree with this though, exhibit A: Deontay

Nothing wrong with Deontays punching technique if your sole purpose is to generate maximum power. It's the rest of his skills that were lacking. FWIW Jackson wasn't the most skilled either. There's always a trade off though, mostly the guys who truly commit - your real one shot stop guys - also leave themselves very vulnerable in doing so. You build your game round your strengths though, if show stopping power is what your gift is then it's smart to build your style around landing it.
