So everyone is complaining about Jr's painfully slow upbringing with matched opponents that Jr basically runs over, prime example being last night's mutilation of some guy named LeHoullier. Chavez Jr was hit with 4 decent shots, but it didn't seem to phase him, and he came out with a solid 1st rd TKO.
As a fan, if you had to pick Chavez Jr.'s next fight, assuming he should go after someone in the top 40 of the Junior Middleweight division, who would you want him to go after?
Realistically, I think it's easy to count out anyone in the top 5(Williams, Martinez, Spinks, Cintron, Dzinziruk), and anyone that has serious KO power capable of hurting Jr's no loss record abruptly, and also any of the japanese or european guys that most likely won't travel to North America to fight.
So here are the guys that I think he has an actual chance of being matched against, and that I think Chavez could handle.
1. Cornelius 'K-9' Bundrage
2. The now entirely shot Kassim Ouma
3. Grady Brewer(has losses to guys like Rubio, Powell, Manfredo Jr, and Pavlik - but he's won his last 8 including against Forbes and the aforementioned Bundrage. He's ranked 30th according to boxrec and holds a trinket)
discuss.
