Got to give Ali credit for traveling, they seemed to go round the world in those days.

Not a dubious count but he got dropped heavily by 'Enry's Hammer and Ali didn't know where he was momentarily -- but it happened right at the end of the round. Angelo Dundee bought some time by alerting the ref to a small tear in Ali's gloves. They looked for a replacement pair, couldn't find one, but Dundee didn't care, he was just getting time for Ali to recover. Which he did. He went on to get a TKO when Cooper bled all over the shop.

I’d replace Wepner and Shavers fights with Henry Cooper I and Quarry or Doug Jones fights. Ali is truly the greatest.

Used to think you were a good writer, but changed my mind after a while..This "list" you've just made...I stopped after coming to Cleveland Williams. How could be not have beaten him. He could have strangled him with his 9 feet of missing intestine, Or pulled off his paralysed back leg and hit him over the head with it. Likewise his kidney, missing since he was shot by the policeman, and died twice-or was it 3 times, on the operating table, 6 months in hospital, 6 months recuperating, and then a group of set-ups to make him ready for Ali.

You should be ashamed of yourself for including this travesty. Do you recall the judge saying that Williams was saved only becuase of that 6 inch slab of stomach muscle. Actually that muscle deformed the bullet do that it did far more damage than it would normally have.

You KNOW all this, but your readers don't....so I 'm telling them. AND...Boxing scene, please do NOT delete my post this time. Boxing fans need to know boxing history.

Boxing Scene management...Cliff or Jake, you could do a full story on Williams and include the sad, pathetic narrative of Mrs. Williams who, after Cleveland was killed crossing the road, opened up about "Bimbo" as she used to call Hugh Benbow, because of her accent, the multi-millionaire owner of his slave Cleveland Williams, who abused him so badly financially and otherwise that as soon as his career was over, the family was penniless..

Do it, a GOOD deed. This one fight should sicken every true boxing fan. The Williams' story should make them throw up. And every fan with human instincts. Lots of good guys on this site.
