  • I just wanted to point out the fact that most of the people who hate boxers who talk trash, are trash talkers themselves!

But hey! that's what we're here for, to empty our trash can with no consequences!

    • You guys are funny...

Wow, we sure got alot of hatin' people on this site.

I'm going to have to defend some of the boxers you lames chose because I respect all boxers.

      1. Ricardo Mayorga- you have to respect a guy who lets one of the best punchers in the game take 3 free shots at his chin. Whatever you want to say about him, He's entertaining and he gives 110% percent in the ring. Although he wasn't in the best of shape, he gave the fans EVERYTHING he had on October 2nd. So Tracylee, don't hate, we never said he was a pugilist specialist. Just a guy with an iron chin and malicious intent, don't hate.

      2. Prince Naseem Hamed- Great, Great Talent. Also one of my ex-fave's. I like the showmen aspect of boxing and he brang it out with flair. Ultra-confident, which is admirable in my book, the Prince WAS legit. But, being mexican myself, I have to admit when Barrera slammed his head into the turnbuckle it was a thing of beauty. But, running with knives, don't hate. He's 5'3'' and he would wipe the floor with you, don't hate.

      3. Oscar De La Hoya- Chicken De La Hoya? ARE YOU SERIOUS? The man gave up his advantages to chase belts and solidfy his legacy by going up to 160, 160!, when he started out as a lightweight. He challenged B-Hop, which no one in their right mind would have done coming up that much in weight. While I'll admit, it's easy to like or dislike Oscar, you got to respect him for fighting the best. So don't hate.

      Things that boggle my mind-
      1. Why do European fighters think that American Superstars have to come to England to fight them? Whoever said everyone was ducking Joe Calazghe is in idiot. Not only does Joe think that everyone has to come to him, he also wants more money than he's worth. But when your selling out arenas fighting nobodies it's easy to call out the best because at the end of the day you can always back out.

      2. Judah/Tsyzu would have been fight of the year if it continued??? C'mon man, what are you smoking? I was pulling for Judah in that fight but Zab would have been really hurt had that fight continued. Kosta Tszyu has a knack for catching left-handers, most recently Sharmba Mitchell, and he would have damaged Judah behind repair had that fight been allowed to go on.

      3. Why is everyone so high on Zab Judah nowadays? As a former Zab fan, he WAS a hard-hitting speed demon 4 years ago. In his recent fights he beat a clearly sluggish Cory Spinks, blew out a joke of an opponent in Wayne Martell, barely decisioned "oldie oldson" Rafael Pineda by 1 point, I repeat 1 point!, lost to Cory Spinks, and won a SPLIT decision over Chop Chop Corley! And everyone thinks he's the second coming? Cherish those belts Zab because you're not going to have them very long. I just don't think he's a true welter. Spinks was a decent win, but if you saw Spinks in his previous fights you could plainly see he was extremly sluggish in the St. Louis fight.

Well those are just my thoughts, sorry so long, but have fun with them.

        I agree with the DLH part. However;

I fell you are justifying Mayorga and Naz' character by their talent in the ring.

This can not hide the fact: "they are jackoffs"

          • Joe Calzaghe - for having absolutely no ambition to fight anyone who is anyone
Vivian harris - for shouting of his mouth yet still backing out of fighting hatton
de la hoya- for becoming part of the establishment (now a promter)

The thing that irritates me most, about Toney:
              is the fact that he beat Jirov for the Cruiser Championship belt;
then moves to heavy with all the "hype".

then fights and destroys a washed up Holy,

              then a fat Booker.

What a Loud Joke. He thinks he can con people into watching him
fight. He talked so much trash about owning the heavyweights.

Well this is his chance. Lets see him face the winner of Rahman/Klitschko and get brutalized beyond recognition.

And in no way am I questioning James Toney's ability as a fighter. He has established himself as being excellent.
He is just a loud jackoff.

              • Naz and Mayorga

I like both of them guys. Of course they aren't all-time greats or anything but both were exciting to watch and were a handful in the ring. On top of that both attracted alot of new fans to the sport. Maybe not for the right reasons but they went beyond the typical boxing demograph. That should also be appreciated.

For whatever reason, Naz didn't really make in all that great transition to America. Maybe because of better competition here, but Prince Naseem was an absolute showmen. His footspeed and slipping ability was unreal and he had unusually power punches for a featherweight. It's very easy to dislike the Prince, but you have to admit, he had an endless amount of talent.

Mayorga was also fun to watch. He came into his fights exuding confidence and just wanted to fight. Yeah some of his comments were "Tyson-esque" but that was part of the Mayorga mania. Ricardo's best shot at winning was to get you into a free-for-all slugfest. What better way to lure you into trading punches with him than by belittling you? It might not have been classy, but you have to look at all sides of the equation. And yeah he smoked in the ring. It was funny, but he fought tirelessly against Forrest in the rematch smoking or not, and he took an unbeliveable amount of punishment in the Tito fight. Name one other fighter who would have kept giving all they have under that heavy of fire? He showed an extreme amount of heart.

That's my take on those guys, I'd still cheer for them anyday.

                • my top 5

                  1) Shane Mosley --Why? Because he can't ever admit that he lost a fight. Always excuses, never giving just due. Even had the balls to say that he felt that he finished strong in the second half of the first fight with Forrest to win the fight. Ugghh...just admit you lost. Plus he knows he didn't beat DLH the second time.

2)Cory Spinks --convulsive dances, and the way he fought vs Mayorga. Falling all over the place. Lame.

3)Tito Trinidad--purely on a boxing basis. He's humble as hell, but he is ONE dimensional. If you fight his fight you lose, but if you stick and move and keep him busy with the Jab...he is a deer in the Headlights. Hopkins, DLH. They made him look very very ordinary. Hell of a left hook though.

                  4) Fernando Vargas -- Took steroids and still couldn't beat DLH. Plus he can't even speak Spanish (very well) and claims Mexico..please.

                  5) Hasim Rahman -- Lottery ticket winner still living off it. Lost to OLD MAN Holyfield, lost to clutch and grab Ruiz, and has been fighting bums in his comeback tour. BOOOO!!!

i also don't get it... they're isolating themselves from the world... is it because they don't trust the americans? i don't know
