Joe DeGuardia isn't convinced that the WBO will make Joe Smith Jr. fight Anthony Yarde next. DeGuardia, Smith's co-promoter, informed BoxingScene.com that the WBO hasn't determined if England's Yarde is the mandatory challenger for Smith's light heavyweight title. If I was Joe Smith I'd try to unify. Better to lose to a champ than losing to Yarde. I'd make the Brit favorite against the Common Man, he's more skilled. The narrative that Joe became a boxer-puncher after losing to Bivol was a myth.

Joe Smith knocks anyone out he hits clean. He is also very crude and limited. I believe he and his team are trying to position themselves for the kind of fight/risk that will guaranteed them the most $$$$. Cant say i blame them

Smith-Yarde is a fun matchup, a potential Fight of the Year candidate and tossup fight. Smith might prefer a unification with Top Rank facilitating for the biggest purse offer. Beterbiev-Smith is a fun fight and potential FOTY candidate too, but is ESPN opening up its purse for Beterbiev-Smith when their impact on viewership is negligible? I prefer to see Smith-Yarde and Beterbiev-Bivol next.

Yarde’s biggest fights were against a older worn Kovalev in which he was stopped and one win out of two with Arthur who had a good record with weak competition. Dangerous fight with Yarde because he can punch but I think Joe Smith beats him. Yarde should fight Callum Johnson

No way Warren will put Yarde in with Johnson if he isn't made Smith's mandatory. Too risky for his previous Yarde.

Hopefully arum puts Smith- Beterbiev together next.
