Must be that time of year for Ground Hog Gary to come out again

Russell Jr has turned so many fights down over his career and made himself unavailable constantly. We all know his game of fighting once a year against fringe contenders, disappearing again and then when he is about to fight pop up and talk a load of bollocks about himself.

He's a decent fighter there is no denying it but he has fazed himself out of the game and all the crap he talks is just to put himself in the limelight as much as he can at the last minute before he beats an overmatched opponent, look great doing it then go hide under his rock until next year.

Please enlighten me. Which fight has Russell turned down?

Gary will be avoided as long as he's nice and respectful. U can go all the way back to Aaron Pryor crashing Ray Leonard's press conference to see how nice polite guys get avoided forever. Ray continued avoiding him because what Pryor should have done is crash that press conference to slap the sh.t out of Ray Leonard in front of everybody. And this is exactly what Gary will need to do to get one of these modern duckers to fight him. Taking advantage of the social media age, U have to publicly humiliate these dudes to shame them into fighting u, by putting their whole manhood on the line with a nice hard slap to the face, with the whole world watching

Ray wasn’t afraid of no crack head Aaron Pryor, dam who he beat as an amateur, Ray went on to beat several Hall of Fame fighters and make millions while Pryor embarrassed himself and died sadly but nevertheless his career wasn’t s(hit) compared to Rays. Fact!

This is one dumb post. All of those fighters might be in their respective situations now but not at the time Russell called them out. I agree that Russell not fighting very often doesn’t help his cause but that doesn’t change the fact that none of those fighters wanted any part of fighting him. Especially Santa Cruz.

Like I always say most of these posters on this site are not boxing fans just casuals who roam from site to site being the "anti everything poster". GRJ has been chasing these guys since 2015 and no one has stepped up, ESPECIALLY LSC. So he might as well leave 126 and go for the big $ fights at 130 and 135. It would be a travesty if we don't get GRJ v Shakur v Tank v Haney v Tug v Ryan v Colbert v Valdez v Berchelt v Loma v Isaac v Teo!!!

Why does little Gary feel he's entitled to the big names (and $) around his weight class anyway? He's been fighting for 13 YEARS, yet has just 3 notable names on his record, one of which he got embarrassed against. NOBODY outside of hardcore fans know who he is, he brings nothing to the table financially, and probably would've sat out the last 2 years while hinting at retirement even if we weren't in a "pandemic." He deserves nothing but mockery.

Well last year alone he turned down the biggest purse he may of ever had to unify a couple of world titles with Josh Warrington.
