I don't usually pay a whole lot of attention to what commentators are saying during fights.
Timothy Bradley was exceptional last night, wasn't he?!?

I'm no fan of Bradley but he seemed too off last night, visibly. I think he was upset that Bud Crawford was suing Bob Arum. I could see even anger when he was saying he himself was never mistreated by Top Rank. I'm not surprised since he's Top Rank's main shill. I'd say he shouldn't have interfered at all.
That whole card last night looked cheap and second grade.Comment

I'd go easy on Mr. Bradley. I really like that guy, and I think that it is glaringly obvious that he is suffering from CTE. I am seeing him slur his words, not just problems pronouncing things. And I've been seeing this get worse over the last couple of years. We see Steve Geffrard using high guard in the first round and Timothy jumps in, "you can't do high guard against a pressure fighter, you have to move". In the second round, Timothy chimes in, "that high guard is pretty tough, Joe Smith has sledge hammers and he can't break it, reminds of Winky Wright who was a great fighter and used to fight with a high guard". In the 4th or was it the 5th round, Timothy breaks it down again, "that's the problem with high guard, you can throw shots around the guard, underneath the guard, you can go to the body".
As far as Joe Smith, in the first round Bradley says, "the problem with Joe Smith is that he fights only one way". Then, "Joe Smith has to box". In the 3rd or 4th round Joe Smith actually starts boxing and Bradley steals the show yet again, "Joe Smith is trying to to box, that's not who he is, he is a pressure fighter, a volume puncher!"
To say that Timothy was incompetent last night I think is an understatement. Joe Smith actually did better when he boxed and even though I am not a fan of Joe Smith I can appreciate the subtle boxing skills that he has, and he's actually very consistent with his tool box. He moves his head after each power shot. He pivots to his left to get a better angle. He double and triples on the jab. He comes over the jab with his right hand. He changes the speed and frequency of his punches. He's not a master boxer there but he knows how to box, otherwise he wouldn't have had this successful of a career and definitely would've been stopped by Bivol.
To be honest, Tim has been doing a lot of good work lately. Everyone has an off night. But I do believe that what you are seeing is the progression of CTE. Makes me sad.Comment

If he is suffering from CTE, he shouldn't be commentating. Anyway, you don't know any better, you're strictly speculating but since you can't call a spade a spade you like beating around the bush and coming up with theories which you can't prove on your own either way.

It's obvious man. And it's a progressive disease. I might be speculating, but it's based on observable behavior.Comment
