i believe marquez will beat floyd.

    IMO.
i came to this conclusion because of i feel this fight is SOME what reminiscent to ME stylistically and maybe a bit poetically (with mayweather who like ali is returns from a long layoff to try and recapture a title, p4p no.1) to frazier vs ali.

now, i believe that marquez (in frazier's case) and floyd (in ali's case) are technically superior to ali and fraizer.we know how floyd's ability is otherworldly, but marquez isn't that far back.marquez is as brilliant offensively, as floyd is defensively.

we can say that floyd fought and beat bigger men.true he did, but floyd hasn't gotten hit as much by those bigger men as he will be by marquez.

floyd is a superior athlete, yes, he is, but he is coming from a long layoff, & THAT WILL be a factor in this fight, whether some agree or disagree.

it doesn't matter how much he's trained in his layoff, since, or in preparation for the fight; that is/was hardly a substitute for the level of competition that marquez will be providing sept 19.

i believe marquez will be the Victor come sept 19.via split decision.

    but i maybe wrong.............

I actually believe that Floyd is gonna stop Marquez. I think he's totally gonna whip him. Don't get me wrong... Marquez is a GREAT boxer but he's too straight up and down and easy to hit. Plus Juan Diaz was catching him at will with the left hook and other punches and Juan isnt exactly a fast handed fighter. I think Mayweather is gonna pump his jab this fight and hit Marquez at will with his right hand.

Marquez needs to win by KO. Unless it's a wide margin (which I highly doubt), Marquez will not be given the nod.

          Exactly right.

This fight, like Pacquiao-Cotto, is a setup for Pacquiao-Mayweather. People need to remember how corrupt boxing is. Manny vs. Floyd is a huge money generator.

Once again, I hope Marquez wins, but I don't see it happening, hence me betting on Mayweather to emerge victorious. It's not unlikely that Marquez gets robbed if it goes to the cards. It could be a Castillo-Mayweather 1 style fight.

The only way Marquez wins this fight is if he KOs Floyd.

He's gotta KO Floyd, but Floyd can win by decision.

I have the same feeling. As soon as JMM wins, posters here will claim long layoff for Floyd.

diaz is/was always a high volume puncher, he was bound to hit marquez some of the time.as far as your proposed scenario, it very well might be the case.i beg to differ though.

Honestly I wouldn't be completely surprised if Marquez pulls it off. I mean I think Floyd should and will win but as of now I don't think the gap between them is that great, plus the other factors like lay-offs and out-of-ring distractions

I don't think corruption will play a part in the judging of this fight, but such is the way that Mayweather fights that rounds can be highly subjective occasionally and it's not impossible that we get controversial scorecards either
