Fury vs Usyk. Who would win the mental battle?

Fury always tends to get into his rivals heads. He completely messed with Wlad, turned Wilder into a delusional excuse making lunatic and has seemingly already broken AJ who’s now even referring to himself as a “big stiff bodybuilder”.

Do you think any of that sh** would work with Usyk though? I 100% think Fury’s baseless steroid allegations are definitely the start of the mind games on his part. Usyk rarely ever bites on that sort of stuff though and may actually have a wackier personality than Fury does. I think Fury would find it very difficult to wind Usyk up like he has with other rivals I mentioned.

Fury and Usyk are clearly the two premier Heavyweights on the planet right now, so they will definitely be sizing each other up already and looking for an edge. I’d be really interested to see who’d gain the upper hand mentally in the build up to a potential undisputed matchup.

I don't get the impression Usyk is the kind of guy who's gonna let someone get into his head but I could be wrong....

I do think if he's fighting a guy who doesn't respond, Fury stands to look bad if he pops off at the mouth like he did for the Wilder fight at least in my opinion...

I'm pretty burnt out on fighters going to the well one too many times trying to appear they have some phycological advantage.

I agree mate, I think Usyk is actually underrated in the element of mental warfare, he almost kills you with kindness.

Bellew and Chisora are usually overtly aggressive with their opponents but Usyk completely diffused them with his silly antics, then come fight night he’s looking to hurt you.

I honestly don't see Fury and Usyk doing mind games against each other. I feel like both genuinely respect each other.

Fury isn’t mentally strong at all it’s a facade an act . The bully tactic and quick wit will get shut down fast against someone like Usyk . Guys who have mental issues and suicidal thoughts and needs motivation to big themselves are weak minded . Usyk is an intellectual surrounds himself by smart people and is articulated , his only flaw is he doesn’t speak clear English and if he did Fury would fake an injury and bail on this one .,businessman man Fury will lose to Whyte and this won’t even be a topic ,Whytes going to destroy him in a press conference and he will have won before a punch is thrown.

An act/persona yes, but Fury is extremely mentally strong when it comes to boxing. He had Wlad beat before they ever stepped in the ring. The way he dismantled Wlad’s whole pseudo-psychologist nonsense throughout the build up was great. And we know he’s mentally strong in the ring.

Fury pretty much give away his outlook on opponents in that gloves are off interview with Wilder. Before their first fight he said to him “ I’ve already beaten you before, I beat you in Düsseldorf” - Obviously he never fought Wilder in Dusseldorf, it was Klitschko. It was pretty cryptic. What it means is he doesn’t value his opponent any differently, that he is the only one that matters in the fight and has long as he is in the ring, all the opponents are the same man with a pair of gloves and someone that he can beat. Anyone that truly thinks that way is difficult to beat and that’s why he gets up the way he does in the ring from a hellacious puncher like Wilder.

Usyk is a great great boxer, but when he’s in with Fury, someone who is willing to dig as deep as possible, then all that Ukrainian amateur system training isn't going to help. Just like it never helped Wlad. Like it never helped Vitali quitting in his corner v Byrd etc etc Fury would never do that and you know it . these Ukrainian’s teach excellent technical boxing but a man like Fury will make them fall apart in the end.

Usyk can’t understand English so Fury wouldn’t affect him.
