The sad thing about all this is that they all end up doing it. They get into the top 15 and there is talk about a fight with a belt holder that could make years of sacrifice worth it... they almost all end up holding out and rejecting offers not to miss out that one fight that could give them enough $ to make a living outside of boxing.

Those that are already crazy rich don't want to risk big paydays because they chose to live large on social media and need $ to mantain the act. This mentality applies to promoters and sanctionning bodies as well and the sport is strctured to feed into all that. As fans we get what we can..until the young cats finalize their transition to a new bisiness mdel with more control over marketing and less dependance on promoters. Eventually, promoters will just book/manage venues and just be facilitators. The fighter's Rep. and lawyer will handle negotiating fights. PBC is trying to create something within the existing business model, but even they can't change what's coming just like blockbuster and cable tv couldn't even with the help of politicians.

Hrgovic's career shows he's the one who has never wanted any smoke with anyone with a pulse so far. He has been matched extremely carefully until the reward is high enough for him to finally fight a good fighter.

Can you show me the fights that Hrgovic turned down because "The reward wasn't supposedly high enough"?
