Comments Thread For: Canelo Stays Ahead of the Field: BoxingScene Competition Index January 2022 Update

With roughly half a year of action to add to the pool, and a New Year all rung in, it's a good time to look in on the competition level of the upper tier of the sport.

Cliff Moneyball Rold does it again the empirical and pragmatic way! But none of this matters because Stephen Edwards’ “Eye Testing” skills still has Crawford over Canelo P4P, even though he himself admitted, like Jeff Mayweather, that Bud has too many defensive holes. But that “eye test” doe. I guess maybe eye testing simply has to do with the nature of color and 20/20 vision. For example to Edwards, Crawford’s perhaps the correct color since it’s about “eye testing”

Reading comprehension isn’t too strong for you is it b***hlife? The author clearly states “This isn’t a pound-for-pound list and doesn’t reflect general standing.” So you’re comparing apples to oranges. Novices like you can’t claim eyeball test because you don’t know what you’re looking at as you constantly have Canelo’s balls tea bagging your face. For example, the eyeball test would tell you that Estrada lost to Choc their last fight but due to some shady judging, he didn’t get the win which is why Estrada is actually on this list.

Estrada beat choco in the first fight and they gave it to choco so the 3rd will be the ultimate decider… oh and that’s not why he is on the list… he is on there because he deserves to be for the career he has put together… a first ballot HOF!!! And he will whoop choco ass in the 3rd!

Canelo is on top of the competition index, which means no one is facing better opposition at the moment. His P4P #1 ranking doesn't depend on anybody's "eye test."

Nice to see that Naoya Inoue dropped out of the top 10 altogether. He had a horrid 2021.

Whatever your criteria; money, competition, titles, resume Canelo is the top dog. These other so called P4P guys need to step their game up. Their killing the sport.

The way this is designed, two in a row against Unranked guys is just not going to cut it. Everybody has to do some terrible mandatory on occasion but can’t follow it with more bleh
