Benavidtez would be a decent contest because of his power , the move to light heavy would also be a good mission with Bivol and Beterbiev but cruiser with Makabu would be pointless and if Usyk came back down he would annihilate Canelo ....again pointless.

Benavidez screwed himself up in the beginning, is begging and clenelo continues to duck him nothing new there.

I was really hoping for Canelo vs. Benavidez! Even Stephen A. Smith was giving that fight a push on First Take!

By Sean Jones: Stephen A. Smith of ESPN says he wants to see 168-lb champion Canelo Alvarez defend his titles against unbeaten former two-time WBC champion David Benavidez soon.

Smith sees Benavidez (24-0, 21 KOs) as someone capable of giving Canelo (56-1-2, 38 KOs) a run for his money at super middleweight, unlike the belt-holders he’s been beating lately to win belts...

“I’m not sure that Jermall Charlo is big enough to beat Canelo, but the brother is 32-0,” said Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s First Take in talking about Jermall Charlo.

“When are we going to give him some love of deserving a title shot, a big fight against a big name fighter. Do you know who I’m a fan of, a huge fan of?

“He don’t look the part, but when he gets in the ring, Molly, he’s a monster. David Benavidez, this brother right here, I’d like to see Canelo against somebody like that.

Benavidez is in that position because he likes booger sugar and he was overweight, I don't feel sorry for him there was like a 2 year stretch where he could have even tried unifying and he didn't.

These little kids just wait for canelo instead trying to create there own path there are millions ways benavidez can go but he and his daddy just wait for a payday quit crying and take some risk weirdo move up or down and stop waiting on a handout.

Huge Canelo fan here. The fights I want to see him in and the reason why, in order are 1. Benavidez- Canelo would defend all his titles and I think Benavidez is the most dangerous fighter at 168. 2. Bertaviev- the best 168 vs the best 175 although I do think Bertaviev would win based on being the naturally bigger fighter. I do think Canelo would be a live dog, just a great fight. 3. GGG- to get the KO and finally shut up the haters, like JMM did after his fourth fight with Pacquiao.

of years - why should Canelo fight Andrade or Charlo or Benavidez? They haven’t earned it and don’t deserve a shot.
