MIGUEL COTTO, the exciting Puerto Rican light-welterweight, is willing to travel to England to fight Ricky Hatton, according to his promoter Bob Arum.

This was even before Hatton became champion,There were strong talks in early 2006 but Hatton decided to move up to 147 and go after the WBA welterweight belt.

When Cotto made his intentions to move up to welterweight,Hatton moved back down to 140 where there was no chance Cotto would fight again

Maussa was mos def a weaker opponent than Cotto, but at least had a belt. I think Cotto woulda beaten him had they fought. If it's true, I never heard about this avoidance of an England offer from Cotto before.

I know. After KT and Maussa Hatton was jumpin up to WW to challenge Collazo. When exactly did this offer for Cotto to go to the UK come down, in 2005 or 2004?
