Comments Thread For: Artur Beterbiev Marches Forward After Tough Win in Montreal

By Corey Erdman - There were a lot of uncertainties heading into Friday's light heavyweight title bout between Artur Beterbiev and Marcus Browne. Most pressing was the issue of whether it would happen at all.

Well it happened, and Marcus Browne wishes that it hadn't because he got molly whopped and stopped to the body no less.
In all fairness Marcus Browne put up one hell of a fight, he is a tough fighter in every sense of the word, but he did get dogged.
He brought Marcus Browne down in impressive fashion, after a tough fight between to of the best at 175 pound's.

Well said. Browne fought hard and showed, but was never in a place where me looked like he had a chance to win. Artur pushed hard late as he does even with the cut. I liked the left to the body he instinctively sends often enough. Still Artur is getting older, not many fights, but can’t be in his prime still. I’m Canadian and I’ll cheer for him all day, but I see his flaws compared to a fighter like Canelo. Id like to see Artur start faster but it’s just not his style, Canelo either for that matter. If they fought, winning those early rounds by a punch or two could the difference.

" "If you're fighting Beterbiev (on the inside) you almost have no chance.”

This is what makes a potential fight with C so interesting. Because C has lately been a pressure fighter - stalking, closing, hard to hit clean to the head and hard to hurt. But do you want to fight like that against B? If you close on B he can hurt you and he doesn't have to hit you in the head. He can seriously hurt people to the body. Does C really want that kind of a mauling fight? So far he has been the more effective inside bruiser. People haven't been able to hurt him to keep him off so he has no respect for them. But surely he would have to respect B? And if he does respect him enough to not close how does he fight B? He hasn't fought outside and on the back foot since the first GGG fight.

        Interesting. V V interesting.

Maybe too interesting for R to make it. But he knows a hell of a lot more than I do.

Well we'll never know because Canelo fights the worst in every division.

Browne’s only chance was a TD after 4 rounds. I’ve seen his fans pissed on social media that it wasn’t stopped, like that the way you wanna win a world title

Marcus was a beaten man. Physically as well as psychologically. He got up AS SOON AS the count reached 10. He could have gotten up before 10 but decided otherwise. He wanted no more of this monster. Respect to both men.

You sound salty casual Oh what will you fanboys say when Canelo fights him. Will it be “he’s 36 years old”? Or “oh he was never that good”?
