I think spoiling and holding, it is affective and I can appreciate it but its damn ugly. Andre Ward was a master at it. I could see how good he was but his style stunk the place out.

Lungers can be ugly too like Shawn Porter but the aggressiveness over rides it if it makes for a good fight.

Nothing really, it's more like personality matching style.

Like for example, Khan, He hasn't got the chin for the style he wants to be able to bring. What he can do well, if he stuck to it, would be fine. What he can't do well, if he could, his attitude would be fine, but, that attitude with those talents makes for a missed opportunity so I don't like him and call him **** even though in reality he's a very good fighter.

Wlad is another example. It's not that I don't like fighters or HW who stay behind the jab so much as he could have been much more if he wasn't knocked into being a *****. That's why no matter what when people actually watch his reign it takes a hit. You think of he reigned forever I'll see some good fights. Nah, not so many good fights. Plenty of hugging and staring at people. I swear to **** he beat Mormeck with a look. So it's not really a boring style so much as Wlad's a god-awful ***** for a HW champion and that style really showed it. Staring contest and slow dancing is Wlad's legacy.

Fighters who are overly defensive why having bad offenses themselves. Rigondeaux against Donaire was defensive, but his offense was so accurate and sharp. Against Casimero, he just ran the whole fight while not being very accurate. He would win rounds by landing 1 jab that equated to an arm punch.

For me, failing to engage.

a runner or a high volume jabber. Also a defensive oriented boxer with no offense or not enough offense.

These guys more or less choose not to engage and prefer to take minimal damage, at the cost of the spectacle.
