Beterbiev is a solid LHW version of GGG.

Canelo would have to use the same aggression he used in his second GGG fight to disrupt timing and make him reset often and fight off the back foot.

My question is does Canelo's team want to put him in a brutal war like he was in when he beat GGG?

Canelo can win this fight but is it worth damage he will take? I don't think Canelo's team will see the reward outweighing the risk of a brutal war.

I'd see Canelo being on his bike for the entirety of this fight if it ever happens. There's no way he can go toe toe with Beterbiev who has the power and physicality to hurt him at any moment to head or body.

While Canelo has decent power I don't think its enough to deter Beterbiev from walking him down. A sensible strategy for him would be to start quick and go looking for a potential early knockout - its his only chance really because although his defence is elite, there will be times where he'll be absorbing some absolute bombs from Beterbiev. Will he be able to last the distance taking said shots or will he break down like so many others who faced Beterbiev? The jury is still out.

If the fight ever happens I see it playing out like GGG vs Canelo 1 where it was a very negative Canelo utilising excessive backwards movement around all sides of the ring. This fight really would take Canelo out of his comfort zone and would be a genuinely dangerous fight for him hence why Reynoso wants no smoke there.

And Tony Bellew says he sees signs of how Canelo can stop Beterbiev.

Canelo or shall I say Reynoso,loves looking for those warning sizes before making his fights. Most canelo opponents came off fights where they looked less than impressive when canelo picked them. Beterbiev didn’t show enough vulnerability this weekend to make canelo comfortable enough to entertain that fight. Maybe in another year when beterbiev has been in another war or 2 and is even closer to 40.

This is true. Kovalev was fought on short notice and rehydration clause after almost getting KTFO'd by Yarde.
