Comments Thread For: Lerrone Richards Boxes Past Carlos Gongora To Capture IBO Belt With Split-Nod

Manchester - Lerrone Richards recorded the best victory of his career as he won a split decision against Carlos Gongora to claim the IBO super-middleweight belt in a fight, on the Parker-Chisora bill, that never really caught fire but ultimately was boxed at Richards's pace.

Big Cong**** to Richards! The Man accepts that he was just not blessed with big Power but he was blessed with athleticism and good footwork he basically beat Gongora with his JAB while making Gongora look silly by making him miss badly

Richards won't be exciting to watch but he'll probably be hard to beat

Wouldn't say he made him look silly as Richards didn't look great in the 2nd half his best weapon was definitely the jab though and he just used good angles to throw him off. Sucks Gongora had visa issues less than 48 hrs to acclimate to the UK and I certainly feel that's why he looked so flat in the first 6 rounds. Fair play to Richards he won without a doubt I say 7-5 for him no way Gongora won 8-4 that score card was off but the right won man on the night.
