The ******ity on some threads on here blows Nash's mind. Golovkin is an ATG with an ATG chin. If he boxed in the olden days, he'd probably be called the best ever. You know, back in a time when Frazier could get knocked down 50 times in a couple of rounds by Foreman and still be called awesome, flash forward to that happening current day he'd be called a bum. As Nash says, fighters are held to higher, and at times impossible standards these days. Older fighters it's an excuse fo all their 20 losses. Nash out. Nash is an internationally renowned boxing and life in general expert. He is admired by all with sense. Nash recently denied strong rumours that he is actually Tupac Shakur. He is not. He is Nash.
Haven't seen that cherry picked fight ever. He did the stanky leg?
Yes if there was more time left in the round he may have stopped him, I don't care it was a cherry pick, he was supposed to fight canelo that day, wasn't GGG's fault the fight got cancelled....
I don't know about an overrated chin, but I've always felt that 2 main things a fighter can do to help his chin, are to be offensively responsible - think Amir Khan or Prince Naseem - they often left themselves wide open for a shot by being offensively irresponsible.
GGG fights very responsibly until he gets an opening where he can load up on the right hand. His jab is very good as pushing the opponent back. When your opponent is on the back foot, you are able to load up more on your shots.
Why? Because when your opponent has all his weight going backwards, he can't load up on shots with any real power.
Another thing you can do to help your chin, is to see shots coming. Seeing shots coming goes hand in hand with being offensively responsible.
Floyd may have called GGG straight up and down, no special effects (whatever that means) but I like GGG because his style is exactly what you're supposed to do in fights for the most part. Fight behind the jab, and load up only when you have openings/your opponent can't.
