How is this protecting canelo? Unless WBC make Alvarez their "franchise" champion at 168 or canelo vacates to pursue fights at 175 etc, at some point he will be mandated to fight the winner of this fight. But whatever his plans are after May, canelo had no intention of fighting at 168 next so, if anything, especially given lemieux' performances at 168, I see this as more of a way of pushing Benevidez forward.

Crawford 34 but at Crawford knocked out Porter instead of split decision him like Errol Spence and Keith Thurman who were top welterweights and he made it look easier than both.

Benavidez needs to beat Lemieux and move up to 175 and see if he can force a big fight. Maybe he could fight Joe Smith Jr or something and get a title there. His chances of staying at 168 and getting a title is zero. I dont see Canelo ever signing for that fight.

Stiff opposition.... Canelo has only fought 3 people in his career that are classified as stiff opposition. He officially lost one of those fights and arguably lost the other 2.

Lemieux was killer at 160 but it's crazy how he's having trouble at 168 when I thought it would help him. It was obvious that making 160 was tough on him. I thought the move up would help him but I guess not. This will be a fun fight regardless if Lemieux comes prepared and doesn't have issues making weight.

This fight puts Benavidez first in line for a Canelo fight, should he win.

Youre dense bro, think before you post man.
