Comments Thread For: Benavidez-Lemieux: WBC Orders For Interim 168-Pound Title; Showtime To Televise In April Or May

David Benavidez's path toward the showdown he wants with Canelo Alvarez became clearer Thursday. The WBC announced on social media that it has ordered a bout between Benavidez and David Lemieux for its interim super middleweight title. The winner between Benavidez (25-0, 22 KOs) and Lemieux (43-4, 36 KOs) will move into position to challenge Alvarez for the legitimate WBC belt in his subsequent bout.

Just another WBC stall job. Lemieux has no business there, period!

The WBC is just Canelo's witness protection program, anything to protect Canelo from Benavidez

This is a terrible fight, Lemieux has nothing to offer, what makes anyone think he can hurt a 168 pounder?

I would absolutely love for lemiuex to pull off the upset. He needs to work benavidez flabby body. Body shots are key

One last big fight for lemmie I suppose. They must’ve owed him a favor.

The super middleweight division is becoming so boring and uninteresting. Neither Lemieux or Benavidez will be a problem for Canelo. Doesn’t matter though cause Benavidez will not get what he wants. He’s stiff, poor footwork, doesn’t move his head and is just a come forward guy.

How is this concept new to boxing? This has been going on since well before I was born (and I'm not even that old)
