They will continue to look for names to add to the resume. Any promoter would do this with their fighter that already has a recognizable name and can fight a bit.

Benn looked good but Chris was 37 and no punching threat. Unless Benn wants to go down the same route as Hearn takes his fighters where they struggle with the boxing public with fights like hunting out 37 year old 'names' then he needs to get serous and there is some decent completion at welter weight for this. Brook/ Con or Broner don't fit as serious threats they are all very much pasted it and looking for 'pension' fights.

They have been discussing this fight for a while.

Broner posted maybe time to EH (Earn with Hearn) on twitter a week ago, Hearn has been asked about in all the pre fight interviews.

Broner got upset with Al on twitter apparently Al pays his fighters in installments and Broner wasn't pleased at being issued his money as pocket money.

Yeah, says he top five so, if he wants move up, he should be calling out Ortiz, Ennis not faded old fighters like Boner, Khon and Broke.

British fighters and fans alike seem to think that any irrelevant AMERICAN fighter is a great fight.
Beating a 37 year old Algieri is hardly a measure of anything. Calling out AB is just another delusion.
If Benn is ready as he thinks he is, call out any of the top 8 WW.
Of course matchmaking is always involved so how about challenging Danny Garcia who is still a legit guy at WW.
I don’t think Benn beats Garcia but British fighters are a funny lot.
When Hatton came to the US, he was the next big Brit export. He gets beat by Collazo then goes on to fight an old way past his prime Castillo and then cashed out with Floyd.
As much as I love Calzaghe, his trip to the US was against a way past his prime Roy and Hopkins (great win still).

The Hearn gots to earn route. Fights so easy, so one sided, that his guy gets hypnotized. Then Eddy hollers, shocking upset. Yeah Eddy, we know.

The announcer tells him,” I’m scared to ask who you want next because you may say Crawford “. He goes and mentions names as far away from Crawford as possible with Broner and the Brook vs khan winner. At least say a Danny Garcia if you want to gain some sort of credibility.

A fight against Ugas is actually quite winnable for Benn. That would be the best path to a world title.

Got to give Benn credit. He has gone from bum to someone. He actually boxed pretty much perfectly against Algeri. That loss did him a world of good.
