moving up in weight is often overrated. look at what canelo is doing: fighting old kovalev at 175 but not beterbiev, makabu but not someone better, etc...most of the time these guys dont really go outside their comfort zones. floyd, canelo and pac turned pro very young and as they grew they covered more weight divisions than loma who turned pro late. its pretty obvious loma is maxed out at 135. loma moving up outside his comfort zone would be him movin up to fight a guy like postol or something, thats what canelo is doing, that what floyd did to fight old #7 ranked hoya or old cotto and drained canelo. these guys werent dominant forces like josh taylor is at his weight. beating postol would be solid but id rather he just stay in his division and fight the guys there. something canelo should have done at 160 or 175 but ended up at 168 where no one good was. something floyd should have done at 147 but did the whole retirement, politics thing

Maybe Loma can whoop Tanks azz if Haney and Kambosos make their fight.
I know Tanks team won't even entertain it but why notComment

Exactly.
What loss? Loma can’t beat Haney unless he fights him/
You posted all this stuff before the Teo fight. What happened?
You should learn to evaluate Loma against the division based on his skill and attributes, not his skin color.
He is beatable by any of the top LW’s just as he is capable of beating all the top LW’s.
I'm a fan of Loma but this guy is overhyped.
He is grat but at this moment, he only was able to look great against B class champions.
He only had two elite rivals (not p4p material) Salido and Teo, and he lost.
Fans trying to excuse him in each of his L is pathetic

An old Kovalev is better win than Walters, small Rigo or those fighters Pedraza, etc.
Lomachenko against Mikey García in 140 is bigger than most of the fights of his career.
Makabu fight it's dangerous, Kovalev was doing well and was a dangerous fight.
Lomachenko vs Mario Barrios would be better than this guy that Teo K.Od in two rounds.Comment

Loma started in 126, in pro.
In amateur he was fighting in 135.
Lomachenko started his career in his lowest weight : 126

Grj and Rigo - b class champs ? Laughable! Walters, who had viciously ko’d Darchinian and Donaire, B-class? Loma still in every P4p list - enough said.

Rigo was much smaller, much more. Of fact, Rigo is fighting right now in 118 pounds and Loma in 135.
Darchinyan was a natural 115 pounds fighter, Donaire in 126 was much more smaller, Walters only won those fights against much more smaller fighters.
Gary is a nice win to Loma, the better win of Loma.
Loma is a great fighters and for sure he is a P4P fighter, but he need to do bigger.things.

Loma is small at 135…size disadvantage in every fight at 135. Still fought Teo close. Winning 3 titles at different weights in the number of fights he did it in was a big thing…had never been done before. What else do u want.

Using your measurement of greatness would make Manny is the best fighter ever and far better than Floyd.
But lets be honest, you don't believe that because we both know that moving up, in and of itself, doesn't mean shyt.
Fighters like Oscar, Floyd and Canelo all used their "cash cow, lotto ticket" to consistently hand picked bigger opponents with easy styles or at catch weights or just plan burnt out and ripe for the picking.
Lomachanko doesn't have that luxury, he doesn't draw the cash and nobody really wants to fight him at 135lbs and there in lay the difference. Oscar, Floyd and Canelo never moved up because there weren't already more difficult opponents at the weight they were in, they moved up for easier fights for $$$.
In context, Lomachanko is 33 and fighting at 135, his max weight. At 34 Floyd was a bigger guy that was barley able to make 147, 154 was his max weight. Canelo lost his ability to shrink down and if Canelo fights until he is 34 (which he won't) Canelo will be lucky to make 175lbs....his max weight.Comment
