We can't calculate just how much damage those Paster of Paris punches caused his brain, or how much they slowed him down.
I don't think that Margarito would've won that fight, Cotto would've probably won by unanimous decision, and kept his undefeated record intact.
He would've also won some of the fight's that he lost there after, but this is pure speculation, because we will never know what would've
happened if Margarito wouldn't have cheated.
Margarito damaged a lot of other fighters career's like Golden Johnson 30-1, and Kermit Cintron 24-0, another undefeated Puerto Rican fighter
who we will never know how good he could've been.
There was karma in the end as Margarito was caught with the loaded gloves prior to his fight with Shane Mosley, who proceeded to knock him out, Manny Pacquiao damaged one of his eyes in their fight, Miguel Cotto got his revenge in their rematch via stoppage, he was suspended will never enter the Hall of Fame, his career is one big asterisk, and his wife left him.
His boxing career went straight down hill after he cheated in his fight against Miguel Cotto, a fate he truly deserved to suffer.
what a giant pile of horsechit. the trainers sit next to the opposing fighters while their hands are wrapped. margarito hit cotto almost at will had more stamina more power and size had the perfect plan to beat cotto. it was the steroid pumped mosley that gave margarito brain damage

I respectfully disagree with those who say that Miguel was a good fighter, but not great.
Actually we will never know just how much better Cotto's career would've turned out.
You see their's no telling how much head trauma was incurred by those Plaster of Paris loaded punches.
The superficial damage was evident for everyone who has watched the fight, but the internal damage was not.
I guarantee you that their was a significant amount of blunt force trauma which caused damage to Cotto's psyche.
It's my belief that Cotto would've beaten Margarito, and gone on to have a more stellar career than the great career he did have.
I don't think he would've all of his future fight's, but he would've won most of his fight's going forward.
As it was Miguel Cotto had a great career in my estimation, coming back to defeat his nemesis in a fair fight, in becoming a 4 weight
division champion solidifies it for the record.
He will be inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame, He carried himself as a true champion in the ring, and respectfully when interviewer
in lead up's to his fight's.

He was good but not a great . in fact overrated.he fought the best but never beat them or had a fight where u can argue that he was robbed. Margaritos wraps were signed off by the commission in the first fight, file an investigation lol... He only beat margarito in the second one because manny busted that eye bad and gave cotto a gift lol..best win vs Mosley, it was close. Avoided paul williams like the plague and a prime martinez @ 154..waited until Martinez had a bunk knee lol

Massively overrated and that’s me putting it mildly. Also, gets a huge pass over the margarito fiasco, irregardless of the fact he fought like a complete novice that fight, go watch past round two when he realized he didn’t have the power to hurt margarito at the time. Brother naz did his career a huge favor in finding something su****ious in margs gloves later on. Without that to latch on to he’s a dude that got worked by margarito.

Didn’t have to search for that one long. Plaster of Paris? Go look at the the results of plaster of Paris. Jess Wilders jaw was fractured in 13 places and he didn’t take nearly half the punishment cotto did in that fight. Go watch that fight again and tell me if margarito really had plaster in his hands tell me how cotto isn’t eating through a straw today? Every other fighter that has been hit by what you claim never even looked the same again. Or maybe just maybe since Mosley was talking about being the first to knock him out, Margs and company decided to use it on him. Seriously, take five minutes to research what would’ve actually happened to Miguel of what you said was true. Oh I know since nobody can go back and check it’s easy to say “how do you know.” Check my post history I was on this site under two names at the time, I put money on cotto and was at the fight. You could hear the shots land, cotto kept ducking into margarito punches, the same way he did with pacquiao and the same way he would right now if you signed him to fight. It’s a flaw and Antonio saw and it beat his up with it. Margarito should’ve been banned from the sport but I don’t think cotto would be alive today if he actually had wrapped his hands with plaster of Paris and dipped them.

If that's true why didn't The bigger, more powerful, better stamina, with the perfect plan to beat Cotto, lose by stoppage in their rematch?
Why didn't Margarito beat him that much easier, and to a worse the second time around, what was the difference?
I'm going to keep this reply respectful, after Cotto got his revenge in the rematch, Margarito never won another fight of any merit.
He has actually became the biggest pile of horse**** in boxing, so dirty that they've given him a new nickname of shame Margacheto.

The one who has to do the research about what Margarito had on his gloves is you, I just looked it up as per your suggestion.
This is what did Margarito have on his his wraps pulled up on google.
In 2009, just before his fight with Shane Mosley, Margarito was involved in an incident where he was caught with illegal hand wraps containing gypsum (calcium sulfate) which, when combined with moisture, forms plaster of Paris.
So actually if anyone is trolling on this boxing sight it would be you, and all the things you accused me of would be projection on your part.
