Then they shouldn't have requested Franchise Champion status and dropped the belt.

The fight with Teofimo could have still gone ahead and then Haney could have gotten his mandatory shot.

But that didn't happen. For a reason.

Mayweather and Tank running away from Loma, is not politics, plain and simple, just being scared, chicken sh** more like it.

havent heard any of these fighters “request” the bs “franchise” status…corrupt president of organizational body just elevates them themselves. What was the reason? U don’t really think the Haney fight was tougher than the Lopez fight at that time? Would agree if Loma had take an easier fight.

This is the best fight to make at 135, I've been saying this since last year. Hopefully Loma gets a title shot at Kambo or Haney as this might be the only way to force a fight with the ducking, big baby Davis.

What top champions did he defeat?

Lomachenko's promoter requested Franchise Champion status.

Top Rank VP of Operations Carl Moretti admitted it.

Regardless - Loma took on the tougher fight in Lopez. Has fought top level competition throughout his career - no reason to duck pillow-fisted weak chin Haney. Makes no sense.

GRJ, Nicholas Walters, Rigo - all undefeated champions prior to losing to Loma. Walters and Rigo quit on their stools.

Again, Lomachenko could have fought Teofimo without dropping the belt.

And then the winner could have given Haney his deserved mandatory shot.

But that didn't happen because of boxing politics.
