It's going to be interesting to see which fighter brings the most potential revenue to the table.

It probably won't be Haney unless Hearn opens up DAZN's wallet.

Hearn is hoping this fight can be made, but don't be so sure that Kambosos will fight Haney next.

May is always a big month on all schedules, so Hearn will try to pack that out for a fee with top value. I'm guessing he's also thinking weather and such, as a stadium fight depends on that, but I'm guessing Australia is a safer bet than Scotland Lmao. He'll also have to consider Top Aussie sports like Rugby, cricket and Aussie rules football. That's Australia's top 3 equivalent to your football, basketball and Baseball I think. Lots to consider.
Gotcha! Lots of moving parts! May could be a packed month! Unless Canelo's card is like Tank's card, I won't be watching it live!

There will be competition for Canelo of course, PBC and Showtime I'd imagine will be interested. They will no doubt have their own busy schedule, and Top Rank too. Let's hope 2022 has far less high profile call offs than 21 lol.

I would be absolutely SHOCKED if Kambosos fights any of the top 4 lightweights as his next fight. Not saying that would be Kambosos' decision. Just the business of boxing will find a way to return to form. Either :

              A) Hearn will suggest that Kambosos fight not a tune up per se, but a hero's welcome fight against a #10-20 fighter that won't be considered a tune up. Just enough risk for credibility but not enough that Kambosos shouldn't win. Thinking the likes of Nakatani, Linares, Maxi Hughes, Willam Zepeda, Emmanuel Tagoe, hell - throw Rollie Romero in there provided he doesn't catch that case. The fight will get eyeballs from the hardcore fans, the gate will still be 80k, he extends his marketability, gets another payday.

              B) Set up the A/B comparison fight sometime in May/June: Have whichever top 4 lightweight you have in mind to fight in latter 2022, and fight their most recent opponent. If the selection is Haney, then schedule Jojo Diaz in the spring, Loma - fight Commey (provided that isn't an upset), Davis - fight Cruz. It builds the story up with a common opponent, and allows the fight more time to ferment. Diaz and Cruz both handled themselves well, and Commey should do the same.

Basically to put him in right away with Davis, Loma, Teo, or Haney jeopardizes his moment in the sun, and the build up time for a megafight is shortened. Fans want the best fighting the best always, but matchmaking norms and sanctioning body mandatory madness will certainly throw a wrench, somehow, someway.

More reasons that a major matchup won't happen:

Tank - Mayweather Promotions thinks that Tank should get the majority of the split, even without any belts. Armageddon breaks out between Hearn and Haymon/Ellerbe. Mayweather feels that Tank needs just a bit more seasoning; throws Tank in with another fringe contender.

Teo rematch - Even though GJR offered it, Teo needs more time to get his head right and his corner/training squared away. Two losses back to back damages the marketability and GJR may truly have his number, even without health complications. Teo's management team thinks its more prudent for their fighter to get back to winning first.

Haney - The confidence is there, the skills are there, but just maybe there might be some tweaks to work on. Focus during all 36 minutes? Maybe working on setting up shots for more impact/power? Would you rather work on that with a bit less competition or try to work on it during an unification bout?

Loma - No concerns here other than a loss and/or injury during the Commey fight. Top Rank should get along with Matchroom, right?

My prediction: Kambosos and Maxi Hughes, the IBO champ in Australia. Then, mega money fight with the biggest payers in US.
