Comments Thread For: Ugas-Stanionis: Agreement Reached Between Sides, Purse Bid Canceled

Yordenis Ugas and Eimantas Stanionis ultimately found common ground. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that a previously scheduled purse bid to determine promotional rights for Ugas-Stanionis has been canceled, as the two sides managed to reach an agreement for Ugas' WBA "Super" welterweight title. The fight was first formally ordered in September and then sent to a purse bid after more than two months' worth of talks and appeals failed to produce an agreement.

If Haymon liked Ugas he'd get a money fight over this garbage. WBA would have given him the Porky Davis treatment.

Interesting. Wonder where this leaves Spence? Spence vs Thurman in the first half of 2022 maybe?

Spence wanted a unification fight, Ugas tied up, I think he should go for the other unification option in Terrence Crawford.

Lol hahaha YEAH RIGHT. Spence is performing the biggest duck job in the sport right now in regards to a possible Crawford fight. Literally actually fkking running from him.

Errol doesn’t care who sees him ducking, he’s going out like a bold buster.

If I were spence I’d make a non title fight up at junior middle and rest the waters and see how he feels regarding his detached retina and other lingering injuries to see if he can reclaim
            pre-wreck form

He's fighting in February or early March one way or another. He can fight his IBF mandatory in February and then fight Crawford in the summer time. The fight with Crawford is not about all the belts. Folks know those are the top two guys at WW and it's a fight people have wanted for a while. Who the hell cares if it is for 3 belts instead of 4? Take the mandatory fight and go on to Crawford....Crawford just fought late November so him waiting until June or July won't be a problem for him.

WBA treating Ugas very different from Tank, Canelo, Murata, and LSC! Very disrespectful!
