Why is Andre Ward fighting clubfighter Shelby Pudwill? Were there no better opponents available?

Pudwill is ranked BoxRec #216, and not ranked by any of the sanctioning organizations. He's had just one fight at 168, he normally fights at 160...

And he was KOed in round ONE by John Duddy at middleweight!

Gusmyr Perdomo is at least ranked WBA #1 contender, and he's been in with several top 50 super middleweights.

Why wouldn't Ward fight 1) someone who normally fights at 168 and 2) someone ranked in the top 200 at 168?

No, Ward should have fought 1) a super middleweight, not a middleweight 2) someone who could last one round with John Duddy and 3) someone ranked in the top 200 at super middleweight.
