    My Iron Mike Tyson Manifesto

"I was gonna rip his heart out. I'm the best ever. I'm the most brutal and vicious, the most ruthless champion there has ever been. No one can stop me. Lennox is a conqueror? No! He's no Alexander! I'm Alexander! I'm the best ever. I'm Sonny Liston. I'm Jack Dempsey. There's never been anyone like me. I'm from their cloth. There is no one who can match me. My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious. I want his heart!
    - Iron Mike Tyson
Hate on me if you must...but Mike was the most feared man in the planet at his prime...there are but a handful of men who know what it feels like to be the absolute best at what they do…and Iron Mike sat at the pentacle of this very short list.
Never mind that since his prime he has shown us all that he is also the most psychotic ex athlete ever...but you cannot take away from the fact that at one point in time Iron Mike Tyson was the baddest man to ever step in that ring.
You cannot take away that awesome power and speed and raw talent that he brought into that ring. Mike Tyson was one of the very few athletes in their respective filed that had you beat before the opening bell. The shear brutality and fear that he brought in to that ring was perturbing yet inspiring. One can only wonder what could have been if Mike had better people around him...Mike was a legend and he deserves his props...Ric Da Rula

Watchin prime Mike as a kid is what got me into the sport. He was mos def the ****in man BITD. That's why when cats talk about him now, they simply reference prime Tyson and exclude the rest. Overall, his career was a huge disappointment. But while at his peak, dude was a ****in monster. Youngest HW champ, undisputed champ, lineal champ. Whooped everybody and cleaned out his division. Tyson is my all time favorite fighter. He deserves his props.

I agree with you gents here. Mike Tyson 1986-1989 was the most exciting fighter alive. He was awesome to watch and he didn;t only bat everyone but it was the manner in which he disposed of his oppnents. People talk crap about the level of competition he fought on his way to the top but he beat who ever they put in front of him. He beat all the belt holders and did it at a younger age than anyone previously did and his record holds true to this day. Undisputed and Undefeated in his first 31 fights....He was a sight too see....Lefty

Tyson in his prime was something else. You did not want to go up against him. Yes, his career could have been better but his prime is what people will remember about him most.

Thing about that "level of competition" bull**** is that people who don't know the sport or people who are straight haters will bring that up.....but if you ask the pros they will let you know...

Im currently reading Evander Holyfield's book (Becoming Holyfield) great read by the way!!

Any how in it he spends quite a bit of time talking about Mike...he even has a whole chapter on him....

Evander goes on to say what he thinks of him...and with out being able to quote the book right now he basically says mike lived up to his nickname "Baddest man in the planet"...

Kid Dynamite is what got me into boxing. I had never seen such an intimidating boxer ever before with super human like power. He was a freakin terminator.
