This is a good point. You can look at it both ways to be honest. Marquez is obviously training differently because of the jump in weight.

I remember watching a Mayweather training vid where he was doing situps while eating potato chips and drinking a soda.

It is a good thing physically and emotionally not to have to cut weight. Physically because you don't have to weaken yourself on fight week.
And I don't have to tell anyone who has ever dieted or cut weight how distracted and pissed off you get. And jittery.

I have never boxed at a high level. But when I wrestled, i competed at close to my walking weight.

thats why i dont understand fighters who lose themselves between fights...you're just making it harder on yourself for your next fight..boxing just like any other sport takes dedication to be the best..anything less you're just cheating yourself

Sadly people don't see the luxury in that.

Don't believe all these BS weight thing. The advantage of cutting weight is to overweight your opponent. Fighters would rather cut weight than to fight naturally. If it was that much better to fight naturally than trust me every boxer would be fighting 2 weight above what they are fighting right now. The only one not cutting weight are the one who can stiill preform fighting naturally like Pac, Mayweather, and Marquez.

What does that say about Mayweather, who doesn't cut weight? Mayweather and Zab are probably the only two WWs who don't have to make 147.
