These are all exciting match ups, to be made. Good business, and marketability.

I personally think Amir Khan vs Conor Benn will be the best match up, in terms of how I think 'The characters will clash'.

But nevertheless, ether Brook or Khan is a good fight for Conor Benn.

I haven't even read this report. I just thought I'd read the comments to see how quickly someone would mention him not wanting or mentioning Ennis. I felt I might even have an idea who it would be first. God I'm good.

He’ll maybe get Brook if he loses to Khan. Kell needs the money. Khan ain’t ever selling his name to Benn though. I still think Khan and Brook beat Benn anyway tbh.

I’m really looking forward to him getting exposed, he’s that arrogant he genuinely believes he’s a world class welterweight despite never even winning a Southern Area title. He avoided fighting for every domestic level title despite several board mandates, avoided an EBU title fight with Avanesyan, the kid is such a fraud man.

Let's look at Ennis's boxrec and compare at 19 fights the same as Benn but unlike him a large amateur record ..

Boots Ennis fought .... wait for it ....

Gustavo Garibay !!!! 13-9-2 !!!! a one star rated boxer now that's sad.

If Ennis wants to get some respect back he should be after Crawford or Spence not Benn what next some amateur from the boxing club down the road.

He's had 29 fights what's he been doing, picking every cherry on the bush .. he should be calling out champions not Benn.

I ain't saying Benn's good but if you put his record up against Boots at 19 fights it's not even funny looking at the raw stats I'd move to Virgil Ortiz Jr , if you'd say why isn't Benn calling out him a different story.

This post is ridiculous on so many levels.

            1) "if Ennis wants to get some respect back....."
Get respect BACK?! when did he ever lose it?! And how?! He's as elite of an up and comer, as the game of boxing can offer! And I don't just mean for "now". I mean any fighter in the history of the game that has been next in line for a big test but hasn't had it, Ennis is probably the best name of all time for that category.

            2) "he should go after Crawford or Spenxe, not Benn...."
HE IS!!! No one will fight him! There's not a fighter out there in his division (hell maybe even a division up) that he'd turn down a fight against! The rest of the world is avoiding HIM. He isn't avoiding anybody!

            3) "he's had 29 fights.... picking every cherry on the bush"
The number of fights on a fighters resume is meaningless for judging talent. You have people like Loma who fight a champion in fight #2 after a great amateur career, but then you have fighters like Canelo who fought every damn weekend early on, and have a bazillion fights. But neither of those numbers specifically, tell how good or bad a fighter is.

Now, I agree with you 100% that Ennis needs some quality opponents on his resume, but it'll come. His career just took him on a path that got him where he's at today. But when he gets his fight he needs, you'll see a career turn 180, and he'll shoot to the top and become a superstar overnight. Because he's that good. A perfect example to compare to, is Teo Lopez. He struggled in a fight or two he shouldn't have early on. But the public knew he was a star on the rise. He (VERY boldly) took on Lomachenko, in a fight that not many expected that he'd actually win. He did, and now the entire boxing world looks at him thru completely different eyes! (At least we did before he got beat up this past weekend! Haha). The same thing is gonna happen when Boots gets that first big win.

The problem I see now for Boots (and kinda Ortiz now too) is that most of the elites are starting to ALL looked like damaged goods. Pac retired, Porter retired, DGarcia has lost a few. Ugas is solid but not the name people wanna see Boots fight, Mikey just ruined his career. So there is almost no one left EXCEPT for Crawford and Spence. And they will have to fight at some point.... the loser will NOT fight Ennis next. So to be honest, the welterweight division is changing, and before you know it, Boots and Ortiz will be "the man" by default.

It's the new age welterweights now!

Sounds to me the original poster (who is on my ignore list by the way so I don’t see his posts unless someone responds) is chickenshyt and believes his favourite fighter will get washed

Brook should have retired after GGG. Or at least not taken that fight and had a fair crack at Spence without having to go back to 147 from 160 with the broken eye socket. I think he would have decisioned Spence under those circumstances and then he should have retired if not willing to move up.

Should have too much left for Khan though who's just waiting to be timed coming in with his flurries. Be sad to see him turn out after against the likes of Benn at 147, a weight he's been making for 17 years since he turned pro. Can't think of another fighter (probably is though) who turned pro at welterweight and stuck there for qas long as Brook, especially when you consider his struggles.

Yeah I'm a fan of Brook's style and he spent way too much time obsessing over Khan and got desperate to secure a huge fight after dominating low level mandos so got in with a prime GGG and ruined his career.

A prime Brook destroys Benn but he needs to surrender his ego and let that fight go after hopefully snoozing Khan as he's no longer the fighter he was and he's made his money. A loss against Benn would be a terrible way to bow out.

Also think Ennis is beyond the likes of Benn - horrendous match-up.

On the boxing board of snakes and ladders Ennis represents a huge snake for Benn's style and skillset.
