Comments Thread For: Mike Balogun Ready To "Show Up And Show Out" Versus Lippe-Morrison On TrillerVerz IV

Mike Balogun could not have been given a more appropriate platform for his planned breakout performance. The former NFL linebacker is more than seven years into his pro boxing career but still fighting for his place at the table. Balogun has an opportunity to change that on Thursday evening, when he collides with second-generation heavyweight Trey Lippe-Morrison. The scheduled ten-round bout is part of a heavyweight-themed Triller Fight Club IV show live on Fite TV from Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

Jake Donovan nice article but he’s not a considerable underdog, as of today he’s a 2-1 favorite

That is a fair point, the odds have moved considerably in Mikes direction especially in the last 48 hours.

Does Morrison actually want to be a contender or no?

Trey Lippe doesn't even deserve to be televised IMO just like Nico Walsh.

Who cares who their father's were they are garbage. Might as well throw Campbell Hatton in there too. Walsh kid is even more removed actually since it's his grandfather...

At least guys like Conor Benn and Eubank Jr. tried to or are doing things.

Both have severe thinned out resumes .

Balogun has only fought 2 guys coming off a win and Morrison 4 . What stands out is Morrison has fought the better guys he shouldn’t actually be the under dog based on that .

The odds seem to suddenly shift into Balogun's favour after the weigh-in. Watching it on YouTube, I can't really see whether that was the trigger. Both looked very similarly built in terms of physicality. So maybe there is something else going on. Lippe being career heaviest and Balogun being career lightest might have been the significant factor that changed the odds.

Interesting, though stats would still favor the heavier guy at least at heavyweight . Seems to be forgotten a lot this is a sport of punches being thrown so bodytype doesn’t really mean much until someone shows it in the ring if they are out of shape or not .
