He has held out his whole career trying to fight mayweather and canelo. First he said he’d fight anyone 154 to 168 then refused to fight ward or anyone at 168. Refused to fight deryvchenko and would only would fight mayweather at 154. This holding pattern held for years until mayweather retired. Then he would only fight canelo refused to fight anyone else with a pulse. This holding pattern has been held for years also. Meanwhile canelo has moved up in numerous divisions won titles and unified. Now going up to to cruiser. Lara mayweather cotto Mosley kovalev even plant and callum smith would probably be the best names on GGG record. He doesn’t even have one. Not even one. ZERO great wins in his whole sorry ass career.
To the first bold, ummm...what? Don't think you saw his last fight then. To the second bold, doesn't look like you remember the timeline of how some of events occured. Refused to fight Derev? I don't get that one. And to the third bold, I'm sure you would give him **** if he had fought any of those guys because they were naturally smaller men. Golovkin's career has been a huge what if and I'm critical as **** too of how his career has been handled, especially the past few years. But let's not act like guys were jumping at the chance to fight him back in the day, with Ward seemingly being the exception, even though there was really no window for that fight to happen.

But as I’ve said before, a lot of boxers are, to put it kindly, not the smartest guys going, especially after a few hundred digs to the head. I reckon it would be quite easy for them to get twisted inside and out by some fast-talking, Eddie Hearn-esque serpent and persuaded for and against a variety of different clashes for some convoluted marketing reasons.

I agree, it would be better if a lot went free agent. Better for us anyway! I know it’s not always as simple as Canelo and Money Mayweather, et al. made it look

it still reads like a excuse

apparently,... Floyd couldn't read, yet he was smarter than Bob Arum

it's not about smart, it's about... real

Golovkin is not real, he never has been... Golovkin was always, content... to fight the guys he selected

when the lights were shining on Golovkin, he was content... with Vanes, Rolls, Sacramento

same with EVERY other fighter who CHOSE to be in that situation

he just fought deryvchenko now. Deryvchenko was trying to get that fight since 2015 but GGG would only fight mayweather and taxi cab drivers. I was a big GGG fan but he let all his fans down. Mans career was spent on the sidelines begging for mayweather and canelo fights instead of fighting the top of any division he just content beating up not so good opponents waiting to be blessed by canelo lol. Tossed his lifelong trainer to the side. GGG is a triple fraud. He’s not ATG at MW. Guys like hopkins Trinidad de la Hoya would’ve schooled him kelly pavlik would’ve put him in a coma. Prime Martinez would’ve boxed circles around him. There’s a reason he’ll only fight 2 fighters his whole career he wanna cash out. No shame there. Just don’t act like ur not lol

That fight was already two years ago and Derev most certainly wasn't trying to fight him that long ago. He had just turned pro the year before and was still moving up the ranks and by then Golovkin was already heading for a match with Canelo. He was trying to fight other fighters at that time but he was too high risk low reward for a lot of names in the first couple years after his HBO debut. Hopkins would have been a good fight but no way in hell would those other guys have "schooled" him, especially at 160. Prime Martinez was great in his own right but he was still getting put on his ass by much lesser fighters than GGG. Pavlik...yeah, no. The Golovkin from 2012-2015 was a vastly different fighter than the one from 2016 and on. He started looking like **** at weigh-ins and was clearly losing a step and a lot of snap on his shots. Sanchez did him a huge disservice in the later years of their relationship. He let him blow up in weight between fights, stagnated his skills and pretty much relied on power. There's a reason why so many guys left Sanchez around that time. He was on a bad losing streak, with his guys looking horrible in the ring and very limited. Overall though, his career will be a huge what if, unfortunately.

That was a nice long rant but not relevant to my point. I said Ggg is more relevant than anyone Canelo has faced since their rematch, not that ggg’s resume or career is more relevant than Canelo’s. Ggg is more relevant than Fielding, Jacobs, Kovalev, Callum Smith, Yidilgrim, Saunders and Plant. Yes canelo has obviously done more than Ggg has since they fought but none of those opponents listed above are more relevant than Ggg and none have done more for his legacy than what ggg would’ve done had canelo actually gotten a clear win over him to get past the gift draw and controversial win.

The article was good but what it did was too further Piss Off die hard Boxing Fans like myself and thousands of others!! It’s fairly obvious that we, Boxing fans, don’t need anyone to tell us how Fighters, especially Championship fighters are Ducking the REAL THREATS to their illustrious belts!! I feel bad for Demetrius Andrade and other Champions like himself. They are forced to fight these so-called “Mandatory” challengers ie Quilegy Down Under! Even casual fans know these fighters ARE NOT MANDATORY caliber fighters! I also used to Love the way GGG handled his business. But lately he’s not acting like a TRUE Champion should act! Same goes for almost every Champion 156 and above! With the exception of A few. I’m writing this comment purely from a FANS view point. C’mon man give us fans what we deserve!!

he CLEARLY took the path of least resistance from 2014 on, which is when he should have been stepping up to the plate

I cannot stand the way Golovkin avoided his business

They all would’ve beat ggg go look at their resumes compared to golovkins. Golovkin wouldn’t even risk fighting a guy like Carl froch at the peak of his career. He never even considered it. Kessler why wouldn’t ggg have ever fought them? All came up in europe.ggg didn’t want the smoke. Hopkins wouldn’t have been a good fight it would’ve been a clinic. He’s a one weight champion. Like I said prime kelly Pavlik would’ve knocked him into outer space he was tall long great jab monster right had iron chin all heart.just a nightmare for ggg. Prime Jermaine Taylor would’ve beat him too. Golovkin made all his golovtards believe he’s this mythical ATGon the level of the great fighters in history but he’s not. No one gets remembered for beating up bums there whole career having one great opponent they never even beat. I can’t even remember who he won his belts from that’s how forgettable his career is. The man who got a draw with canelo is what he’ll be remembered for lol

ggg a straight coward and a hypocrite. At this point, he is washed up and would take a beating from jermall, and andrade would toy with him. He is either going to quit on his stool or get ko'ed for the first time by one of these guys. He knows it too well, that's why he never mention their names. Canelo at this point has nothing to proof fighting him as canelo already beat him.

Sorry, resumes don't win fights. Oscar couldn't even convincingly win against Sturm. He couldn't even take a Hopkins body shot, can you imagine him taking one from prime Golovkin? And they did want to fight Froch. Kessler was at 168 when Golovkin turned pro. There was also a little tournament starting in 2009 also. It's well known how ****ed over he got from Universum, which is why he ultimately left and came to the states. That's pure speculation about Pavlik and Taylor and pretty much everything else you said.
