What are the odds his opponent is Arreola? Two fighters with a Mexican background in a rematch. Ruiz talks a good game but has not shown anything since he beat Joshua. And the question is whether he has the same toughness now that he is wealthy.

Every time I see a good training video of Ruiz it is with Manny Robles.

Ruiz punch resistance was said to drop with the weight loss ,I tend to believe that after watching the Arreola fight .

Maybe Ruiz natural weight hovers 265 ? But being lighter for him wouldn’t necessarily mean better ,he’s going to be heavy footed no matter what .
Fighters will now know to not try and exchange toe to toe with Ruiz but fight him at the best distance. Course not everyone is as tall as AJ or Fury. AJ went after Ruiz once he dropped him and I admire that. It’s just that Ruiz survived, took some huge shots and landed some of his own. It was truly a moment of heart and skill that will probably never be duplicated from him. Never will he be in a bigger moment. He has fast hands, but all the guys ahead of him are taller than him and have great cardio. Wilder kept pushing himself vs Fury in the last fight. I’d love to see him fight Ruiz, but doubt it will ever happen. Wilder could stick and move and run a more economical pace vs Ruiz, plus his power slows people down. Usyk impressed me with how much foot and head movement he managed to keep up vs AJ over twelve rounds. I think Ruiz could be a good match for Usyk if he was in his best shape and was willing to push for his legacy instead of knowing he’s getting his check regardless. Mexico City is a higher altitude than most think. Not sure what name he can drag there for a fight. I’d love to see him look great and be motivated to make another run. A poor performance and I expect him to sit around until he gets belt holder to give him a shot on name alone and knowing he’s slipped.
