If Michael Jordan can become one of the most famous athletes in the world, there is no excuse for anyone. Crawford f*ked himself by re-signing with Arum. Arum doesn't want to make anyone into a star because he knows they will leave him. Hopefully Lomachenko leaves him for whatever he has left in his career.
But North Carolina is much more respected from a street perspective than Omaha, NE. When I think of Nebraska, I think of Corn. When I think of Chicago, Kansas City, St Louis, Detroit, Baltimore, and Charlotte I think of struggle

Nah I think it’s immaterial really, there’s been massive draws from far more obscure places.

I don’t think any of us had heard of the Sarangani Province before Pacquiao.

What does the street perspective have to do with him re-signing with Arum? Nobody is tuning in to watch fighters just because the are from a certain city. lol.

I doubt it is anything to do with where he comes from and it surely has nothing to do with his talent or fighting style.

              I think it's a combination of 3 things really.

              1. His personality, Americans like the brash, loud arrogant fighters and Bud is generally a quiet man.

              2. Bob Arum has not tried to do his job properly as promoter, if anything he has done the opposite.

              3. His resume isn't full of well known names as far as causal American fans are concerned, as well as he has done and for all he has achieved it hasn't been against fashionable names that would dazzle in the sports pages or what ever. Victor Postal is a very good scalp to real Boxing fans but it won't scream WOW to the casuals and all top Boxers fan bases are mostly made up casual fans.
