Toney realizes this fight's importance, especially with Chris "The Nightmare" Arreola set to fight WBC titleholder Vitali Klitschko on Sept. 26. Arreola also is promoted by Goossen-Tutor.
"I got winner, that's what they told me," said Toney, who's ranked No. 11 by the WBC while Arreola is No. 1.
Toney, 41, now trains in Reseda and has become a workout dynamo, training two or three times a day at a 24-hour fitness club near his home that also is a training base for Laila Ali, Lamon Brewster, Javier Mora and a slew of NBA and NFL stars.
One look at Toney makes you wonder how he's able to compete with the gargantuan heavyweights who tower over him. But the diminutive Toney has knocked out Evander Holyfield and plans to do more.
"Matthew Greer is a tremendous fighter but he's not James Toney," Toney said. "I'm an old school fighter, a blood and guts fighter."
Toney really wants a crack at either of the Klitschko brothers, who hold three world titles.
"Everybody gives them too much credit. I'm going to ruin their parade," Toney said.
Vitali will smash him
